The teaching and learning goal of the Department of Biotechnology is to provide students with high-quality education in both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The department prepares students for the biotechnology sector by providing comprehensive, multidisciplinary courses that integrate theory and practical applications. Additionally, students interact with and train at leading private industries and public institutes through industrial, laboratory, and field visits, as well as in-plant training. During the first two years, the department offers core courses in biotechnology and related disciplines, including Agricultural Chemistry, Cell and Biomolecules, Molecular Biology, Agricultural Biotechnology, and Industrial Microbiology, to provide fundamental knowledge and skills. During the third and fourth years, students specializing in Biotechnology take advanced courses such as Cellular Interactions, Molecular Genetics and Genomes, and Bioinformatics. Application-based courses provide specific knowledge and skills in areas such as Genetic Engineering, Plant Tissue Culture, Molecular Breeding, Advanced Molecular Techniques, Environmental Biotechnology, and Industrial Biotechnology. During the final year, undergraduate students complete a guided research project for approximately six months in diverse fields of biotechnology. This research is conducted at the department’s laboratories or external institutes under the supervision of postgraduate-qualified senior staff. As the final requirement of the study program, students complete a four-month in-plant training placement at external institutes selected from a list of departmental collaborators.<\/p>\n
