Dr. S Salgadu

I am a precision plant pathologist whom develops remote sensing technologies to manage (diagnose, quantify and monitor) plant diseases. My professional life begins with the acquisition of B.Sc. Agriculture (Hons.) degree majoring in Horticulture and Landscape gardening from the Wayamba University of Sri Lanka (WUSL) in 2012 and Hig. Dip in Computer technology (University of Colombo). Immediately I was recruited as a demonstrator to the department of Horticulture and Landscape gardening and then was appointed as Lecturer (Prob.) in 2014. Since 2012 I have been researching on plant diseases in a range of crops including fruits, vegetables, flowers, field and plantation crops.  Expertise in disease diagnosis, understanding disease behavior, designing management strategies. I believe multidisciplinary approaches with new technology allows better agricultural crop management. In my career I have got the opportunity to internationally collaborate with Australia, PARG-UNE (Precision Agriculture Remote Sensing Group, University of New England)
