Agricultural Research Symposium (18th AGRES)
Agriculture Research Symposium (AGRES) is an annual forum for our undergraduates to present the outcomes of the research projects conducted by them to an audience consisted of scientific and industrial personnel.
In this year, it is organized for the 18th consecutive year and will be held on 07th January 2020 at the New Auditorium of the Makandura premises of the faculty.
The research projects are conducted by the students in the 4th year of the degree program individually and it covers 10 credits as a partial fulfilment of the degree. Most importantly each and every research project is carried out under the supervision of the academics of the faculty as well the well-recognise scientists/ researchers from the reputed public and private institutions and organizations. Therefore, AGRES provides a great opportunity for final year students to learn and also to get hands-on experience on the way of conducting a scientific research, writing a scientific research paper and presenting in a scientific forum.
Organizing of this kind of scientific event is a big challenge and organizing role is also played by the same group of students under the guidance of the academic staff. Therefore, AGRES provides them a platform to develop their planning, organizing, and controlling/ managing capabilities and also a path for the students to improve their soft-skills such as team work, interpersonal skills, time management, financial handling, problem solving and creative thinking as well.
