Prof. Bandara Gajanayake

Welcome to the Faculty of Agriculture & Plantation Management.

It is both a privilege and a profound responsibility to serve as Dean of a faculty with a proud tradition of excellence in agricultural education, research, innovation, and service to society. Building upon this strong foundation, our vision is to transform FAPM into a globally respected, student-centered, green, disaster ready, and digitally empowered faculty that contributes meaningfully to national development and sustainable agriculture worldwide.

Guided by a ten-pillar strategic vision, we are committed to advancing academic excellence, research and innovation, modern teaching and learning, graduate employability, industry and farmer engagement, international collaboration, sustainability and disaster ready, digital transformation, and student success. We seek to nurture future-ready graduates who combine scientific knowledge, creativity, resilience, leadership, and ethical values to address the complex challenges of food security, climate change, environmental sustainability, and emerging technologies.

Above all, we believe that people are the true strength of a university. Together, through collaboration, inclusiveness, and a shared commitment to excellence, we will build a vibrant academic community that inspires discovery, drives innovation, and shapes the future of agriculture for generations to come.
