Dr. Wishwajith Kandegama, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Gardening, brings recognition to the department and the Faculty of Agriculture and Plantation Management of Wayamba University of Sri Lanka and the nation with his new appointment as the Director of the International Plant Protection Cooperation Organization (IPPCO), China. IPPCO is a global platform to combat plant protection issues in agriculture through sharing knowledge, experience and technologies between member countries (including Sri Lanka), initiated by Guizhou University, China. Dr. Wishwajith Kandegama, is also holding the position of Secretary General of the China-Sri Lanka Belt and Road Joint Laboratory on Green Plant Protection.
