The Department of Horticulture and Landscape Gardening with HortiSoc is moving ahead launching a brand new event, HIS Forum, for the first time, creating a platform to expand the mutual trust and relation with industries and the department.
The Department has taken a step forward to strengthen the relationship between industry and the department by launching a “Horticulture Industries Stakeholders Forum” (HISF 2025), aiming to understand the opportunities and continuing our mutual trust and collaboration between university and industry, on the 12th November 2025 with the participation over 60 collaborative companies (offering IPT placements) and over 200 DHLG undergraduate students, at the Multi-Designated center in the Makandura premises, Wayamba University of Sri Lanka.
This is a special event, where “HIS Forum 2025” creates a common platform for all companies that facilitate students’ in-plant trainings to discuss, giving feedback for improvement, identifying horticulture stakeholders’ requirements, recognizing staff and students’ strengths and opportunities, and networking.
