The University Grants Commission (UGC) has announced the calling of applications for the admission of students with foreign qualifications to undergraduate courses at state universities in Sri Lanka for the Academic Year 2025/2026. Candidates holding results from a foreign examination deemed equivalent to the Sri Lankan G.C.E. (Advanced Level) Examination are eligible to apply under this special provision.
Following categories of candidates are eligible to apply:
- Children of Sri Lankan diplomatic personnel who are or have been stationed in other countries.
- Children of foreign diplomatic personnel working in Sri Lanka.
- Applicants from SAARC countries.
- Sri Lankan applicants not covered by the diplomatic category who fulfill other eligibility requirements.
- Other foreign applicants not covered by the categories above.
Important Dates
- Applications Opened: 27th July 2026.
- Application Deadline: 17th August 2026.

Application Procedure & Contact Information
Please note that the Faculty of Agriculture and Plantation Management at the Wayamba University of Sri Lanka is not permitted to call for or process applications separately under this provision. All applicants must forward their duly filled applications directly to the UGC on or before the deadline of 17th August 2026.
