The Faculty of Agriculture and Plantation Management (FAPM), Wayamba University of Sri Lanka, recently hosted a delegation from a Japanese agricultural enterprise for a high-level discussion with the Dean and academic staff.

The dialogue focused on exploring collaborative research opportunities and practical solutions to key technical challenges in modern crop production. Key areas of focus included optimizing low electrical conductivity (EC) growing bags for protected agriculture and developing sustainable management strategies for controlling nematodes in tomato cultivation. This visit underscores FAPM’s dedication to expanding international linkages, advancing applied agricultural research, and bridging the gap between academia and global industry needs.
