The Faculty of Agriculture and Plantation Management is pleased to announce that Professor Bandara Gajanayaka officially assumed duties as the Dean of the Faculty on 1 June 2026.

Professor Gajanayaka brings with him extensive academic, research, and administrative experience in the fields of agriculture, plantation management, and higher education. Throughout his distinguished career, he has made significant contributions to teaching, research, curriculum development, and community engagement, earning recognition for his commitment to academic excellence and sustainable agricultural development.

The official assumption of duties ceremony was held at the Dean’s Office in the presence of academic and non-academic staff members of the Faculty. During the occasion, Professor Gajanayaka expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him and reaffirmed his commitment to further strengthening the Faculty’s academic standards, research productivity, industry collaborations, and student-centered initiatives.

Addressing the gathering, he emphasized the importance of innovation, sustainability, and interdisciplinary collaboration in addressing contemporary challenges faced by the agricultural and plantation sectors. He also highlighted his vision of enhancing the Faculty’s contribution to national development through quality education, impactful research, and meaningful stakeholder engagement.

The Faculty extends its warm congratulations to Professor Bandara Gajanayaka on his appointment and looks forward to his leadership in advancing the Faculty’s mission of producing competent graduates, fostering innovative research, and supporting the sustainable growth of the agriculture and plantation industries.
